Money is one of the biggest concerns for college students. There are loans, books, lab fees, rent, food, bills, and life's every day little things that all add up quickly. Some students have a part time job but that only gets them by. The real way to make money in college is to start a small business.
Now this sounds more intimidating that it is. There are many ways to start a small business without having to spend much money, or any money at all.
One of the best ways to make money in college is to get into Internet marketing. There are many different fields of Internet Marketing however affiliate marketing is great for college students because they don't have to spend a dime. By writing articles, making forum posts, and blogging, college students can make money without spending any. Although this can be slow at the beginning, if you begin to write an an article a day, you will have 30 articles out there in a month, promoting your affiliate product. This is something you can continue to do even after you graduate and can really make you some serious money, all in your spare time.
Another way to make money in college is start a service on your campus. People need things done. Period. For example, if you live in the north, you can offer services to shovel driveways for a per hour fare to your teachers or coaches. Teachers also have kids that need babysitting. If you have any experience in this field, professors will be glad to hire you, especially if you are in their good graces. Another example would be to have a small " taxi " service. Provides rides to places like the mall or airport for about half the fare of a normal taxi. My group has done this several times before spring break and long weekends and have made a killing. These are just a few ideas to make money in college starting a small business. This can also build your resume and get you some references. So in other words, you have nothing to lose!
