The premium skills for Internet writers are readable text, fast. Literary works have little or no market. If you can write at the 5th to 9th grade level and can type at a reasonably fast speed, then you can make money writing for the Web and make a good living on the Internet.
There are many openings for new writers. In fact, most new writers would not have called themselves "writers" beforehand. It seems that in some ways, the traditional writer is at a disadvantage here... They have things to unlearn, whereas new writers do not carry that baggage. They just write what is in demand.
