You are only paid for what you do today, yesterdays work has already been paid for and you will never get paid for yesterdays work ever again! When creating systems, yesterdays work will pay you again and again, in fact every day. Todays work will pay you tomorrow and the day after and the day after that, but so will yesterdays work. Its cumulative. Work 1000 hours building systems and you are making $500 per day and beyond.
