There is no doubt about it, we live in an information age. And everyone wants their information fast - super fast. That's why the popularity of eBooks and other digital products keeps getting stronger and stronger. A customer finds a solution to a problem in the form of an ebook, pays for it and is able to download it instantly.
EBay sellers are becoming increasingly aware of this and many sellers that previously sold physical products are becoming more and more interested in selling ebooks and other easily downloadable items. There is no more packing and posting, no more trekking to the post office and no more holding boxes of products in your garage waiting to be sold. With a downloadable file you virtually have unlimited stock and you don't have to leave your computer to deliver it to your customer.
But since ebooks often sell for such a tiny price, can you really make money selling ebooks on eBay?
The short answer is yes - but only if you are clued up on the best ways to list and deliver them.
Firstly it's not enough to making a listing of one 0.99 cent ebook hoping that it will make you rich. Once fees are taken out, you will probably only be left with a tiny profit of around 0.10 to 0.20 cents - if you are lucky! Even if you sold 100 of these, that's only around $10 to $20 dollars profit.
One of the tricks of listing lower priced items and reducing your fees is using a Dutch Auction. That is where you get to list more than one item in the same listing therefore reducing your fees. If you listed one 0.99 cent auction but increased the quantity available to 10 or more, even if you only sold 3 or 4 from that auction you will still make a substantially higher profit than you would if you listed each one as a single auction.
