Make Money Blogging Through Advertising

Almost everybody toys with the idea of making money blogging at least once during his or her blogging career. One of the easiest ways to make money blogging is by implementing advertising into your site. Advertising works much like affiliate marketing. The advertising links and images are placed onto your blog and then you go on creating content like normal. Your blog's visitors are free to click on the links. The difference between this and affiliate marketing is that your income is not contingent upon making a sale.

There are a couple of ways you can add advertising to your site. The easiest way to include advertising on your site is through an advertising company like Google Adsense, Text Link Ads, Blog Her, Adbrite, and Yahoo. Most of these are pay-per-click advertising. Pay-per-click means that each time a visitor to your site clicks on one of your links or ads, you earn a small amount of money. Obviously, the more relevant the ads are to your site, the more money you are likely to make with pay-per-click advertising.

Text Link Ads is a little bit different. Instead of being pay-per-click, Text Link Ads lets you decide how many text links you want to place on your site and then hunts down them for you. Each link you place on your site will earn you a certain amount each month. Obviously the more popular your site, the more money you stand to make through advertising.

Finally, you can always sell advertising independently. Simply leave space in your blog's template and then, somewhere on your site, let visitors know that the space is for sale to advertisers. This allows you to set your own ad rates and decide how often you get paid each month. This also takes more work on your part because you will need to work very hard on your blog to prove that it would be profitable for people to advertise on it.
